Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Soft Focus LLC (“Soft Focus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit https://www.softfocus.world (the “Site”), submit a Soft Focus form, or otherwise communicate with us in connection with the Site.

It does not apply to information collected under a separate written agreement or a separate event, ticketing, employment, or contractor notice.

Information We Collect

Information you provide. Depending on the form or interaction, we may collect:

  • Contact information, such as your name, email address, city or region, and organization.

  • Professional or creative information, such as your role, biography, website, portfolio, or social-media links.

  • Inquiry information, such as your interests, goals, proposed collaboration, preferred timing, budget or available resources, and communication preferences.

  • Content and files you choose to submit.

  • Communications you send to us and records of our response.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, Squarespace and Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, may automatically collect technical and usage information such as your browser and device type, operating system, referring page or source, pages viewed, interaction events, approximate location, timestamps, network information, and cookie or similar identifiers.

Google Analytics operates only as permitted by your cookie choices. Soft Focus does not use Google Analytics to collect the content you enter in form fields.

When you open a Tally-hosted form, Tally may separately collect technical and usage information under its own privacy practices.

Please do not submit sensitive information. Unless we specifically request it through a secure process, do not send government identification numbers, payment-card or bank details, account passwords, medical information, precise location, or other sensitive personal information through our general forms.

How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and forms.

  • Receive, review, and respond to invitation requests, partnership inquiries, collaborator submissions, patron inquiries, and other communications.

  • Evaluate current or future opportunities and maintain appropriate business records.

  • Send invitations, updates, or other communications you request or consent to receive.

  • Understand general audience interest and Site performance.

  • Detect misuse, prevent fraud, troubleshoot, and protect our rights and the safety of others.

  • Comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use vendors that support website hosting, analytics, form collection, email, cloud storage, communications, security, and business operations. At the date of this Policy, the Site and forms use Squarespace, Google Analytics 4 provided by Google LLC, and Tally. These providers process information on our behalf or under their applicable terms and privacy documentation.

  • Professional advisers. We may disclose information to lawyers, accountants, insurers, and other advisers when reasonably necessary.

  • Legal and safety purposes. We may disclose information when we believe disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or the integrity of our services.

  • Business transfers. If Soft Focus is involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be disclosed as part of that process, subject to applicable law.

  • With your direction or consent. We may disclose information when you ask us to or otherwise authorize the disclosure.

Soft Focus does not sell personal information for money and does not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will update this Policy and provide any legally required choices if our practices change.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site and its providers use cookies and similar technologies that are required to operate the Site and, when enabled and permitted by your choices, to understand traffic and performance.

The Site uses Squarespace’s native analytics and Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics may use analytics cookies or similar identifiers to measure visits, traffic sources, pages viewed, interactions, and selected events.

You can use the Cookie Preferences control in the Site footer to accept, decline, or change choices for non-essential cookies. Browser settings may also let you block or delete cookies, but doing so can affect Site functionality.

When you follow a link to a Tally-hosted form or another third-party site, that service may use cookies under its own policy. The Google Analytics connection on the Squarespace Site does not by itself track a completed submission on tally.so, and the Soft Focus cookie preference panel may not control cookies placed on a separate third-party domain.

Email Communications

We may send service-related communications needed to respond to a request you submit. We will send ongoing invitations or marketing updates only where you requested or consented to them.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the message or emailing hello@softfocus.club. We may still send non-marketing communications about an active request, agreement, or transaction.

Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to manage an inquiry or relationship, maintain business and legal records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, accounting, insurance, or security requirements.

Retention periods vary based on the nature of the information and the reason it was collected. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that does not reasonably identify you.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we maintain.

No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

Your Choices and Requests

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you submitted to us, or withdraw a consent you previously gave, by emailing hello@softfocus.club.

We may need to verify your request and may retain information where permitted or required by law. You can also unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message and manage non-essential cookies through the Site’s Cookie Preferences control.

California Online Privacy Disclosures

California’s “Do Not Track” disclosure. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is not a uniform industry standard for responding to that signal, the Site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals. You can use the Cookie Preferences control and browser settings to manage available tracking choices.

Third-party collection. Squarespace, Google, Tally, and providers or third-party sites you choose to use may collect information about your activity over time and across different websites or online services under their applicable privacy policies. Soft Focus does not control their independent practices.

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information, contact us at hello@softfocus.club so we can take appropriate action.

Children

Third-Party Links and International Processing

Changes to This Policy

The Site may link to forms, social platforms, ticketing services, payment services, or other sites operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, not this Policy.

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, services, or legal obligations. We will post the updated Policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date.

If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when appropriate, such as a notice on the Site or by email.
